A Private War screens this Friday

... and our other fabulous films

Dear Visitor,

We have had a wonderful start to the year with so many great films, and we are pleased to say that there are many more to come!

Look out for our next newsletter where we will be giving you the option to vote for some films!

This Friday 3rd May we will be screening A Private War the incredible story of celebrated Sunday Times war correspondent Marie Colvin. A woman who is as comfortable downing martinis with high society's elite as she is brazenly staring down warlords and fleeing from gunfire. Driven by an enduring desire to bear witness and give voice to the voiceless, Colvin charges into danger, constantly testing the limits between bravery and bravado. A legendary figure who wore an eyepatch after losing an eye to shrapnel in Sri Lanka, she was the Sunday Times War Correspondent in Homs in 2012 and in the building that the Syrian authorities shelled. The film stars Rosamund Pike with Jamie Dornan, Greg Wise and Tom Hollander and is based upon the Vanity Fair feature "Marie Colvin's Private War". Cert 15.

Friday 17th May we will be screening Stan & Ollie Superb headline performances from Steve Coogan and John C Reilly as Laurel & Hardy, one of the world's great comedy teams, set out on a variety hall tour of Britain in 1953. A portrait of the most tender and poignant of creative marriages, they are aware that they may be approaching their swan song, trying to rediscover just how much they mean to each other.  Cert PG.

Coming up we have 'Mary Queen of Scots' , 'Can you ever forgive me?', 'Fishermans Friends' and so many more fabulous films will be appearing on www.chiddingfoldcinem.com soon!
