June is Drama Monthwith a touch of black humour too |

Dear Visitor,This Friday 7th June we will be screening Mary Queen of Scots Starring Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie, David Tennant, and Jack Lowden. Margot Robbie and Saoirse Ronan excel as wily foes in Josie Rourke’s striking take on the rivalry between Elizabeth I and her Scottish cousin. In honour of the red Queens we will have a special on at the bar 'Sparkling Shiraz (red) wine' the same price as prosecco £3.50 a glass! The Chiddingfold Village Fete will also be selling raffle tickets before the film and during the interval. With over £1,000 worth of prizes including £250 cash prize, tickets are £1/each or £5 a book. All profits of the fete will be split amongst 5 beneficiaries including the village hall cinema improvements. So do buy some tickets at the cinema (also available at Treacle's Tea Shop and at the Fete)!
THURSDAY 20TH June we will be screening Can You Ever Forgive Me? which I strongly recommend based on the hilarious memoir of Lee Israel. Deftly directed and laced with dark wit Oscar nominees Melissa McCarthy and Richard E Grant make a perfect pairing in this finely composed portrayal of real-life literary forger Lee Israel. Fascinating true-crime black comedy, one of Melissa McCarthys best performances alongside Richard E Grants bleakly hilarious Jack Hock.
Click on film title for the trailer and the poster to book-online. Both films are a 15 certification and ticket prices are £6. Season tickets are £30. July will be Comedy Month ... both films are on the cinema website available for booking now. Together with another wonderful live theatre production from The Black Box Theatre company who are doing a hilarious radio drama version of the 39 Steps in November! Look forward to seeing you soon.
