What A Fabulous Season

of films from Chiddingfold Cinema

Dear Visitor,

We have a fabulous selection of films and special events coming up over the next two months!

Tomorrow Friday 4th October is Rocketman - this incredible musical / fantasy /biopic looks like it is going to be a sell out judging on ticket sales.  It's going to be a long, long time before a rock biopic manages to capture the highs and lows of an artist's life like Rocketman!

Friday 18th October is Sometimes Always Never - Starring Bill Nighy, Jenny Agutter, Alexi Sayle, Tim McInnery, Sam Riley & Alice Lowe
Alan (Bill Nighy).  Elegant off-beat comedy, carried off with wit and flair.  Superb cast list in this fabulous triple word score of a film.

Then heading into November a really packed month .......

Friday 1st November is Hotel Mumbai - A gripping true story of humanity and heroism, HOTEL MUMBAI vividly recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai, India. Starring Dev Patel, Armie Hammer and Jason Isaccs.

As part of our Remembrance Day events we are screening a special charity film on Sunday 10th November Two Men Went to War - This comedy drama tells the true story of two Aldershot based members of the Royal Army Dental Corps, Sergeant Peter King (Kenneth Cranham) and Private Leslie Cuthbertson (Leo Bill) who, in 1942, stole a bag of hand grenades, two revolvers and a set of the best dental equipment that money could buy and went off to invade occupied France on their own.  The film will be followed by a Q&A session with the film’s screenwriter and Associate Producer, Richard Everett, a playwright and local Grayswood resident.

Friday 15th November is Yesterday - Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle joins celebrated screenwriter Richard Curtis for a new comedy starring Lily James, Himesh Patel and Kate McKinnon.  After a freak bus accident during a mysterious global blackout, Jack wakes up to discover that The Beatles have never existed. Performing songs by the greatest band in history to a world that has never heard them, Jack becomes on overnight sensation.

Finally on Saturday 23rd November Black Box Theatre Company are back with us
The 39 Steps - A Live Radio Drama Following the enormous success of their award winning play, Bully Beef & Whizzbangs last year, BlackBox return with a stunning new adaptation of John Buchan’s classic ripping yarn, The 39 Steps.  An irreverent and  affectionate take on one of our best loved stories.  Full of thrills and spills, it’ll keep you on the edge of your seats and crying with laughter.
If you have not been since August, we have had new professional AV equipment installed with incredible 5.1 surround sound quality far better than we had before.  Tickets remain just £6 and £3 for under 15's where permitted, and don't forget our season tickets which give 6 entries for £30!

We really look forward to seeing you soon!
