BREAKING NEWS - New sound and AV equipment

We are delighted to advise that at considerable, but very worthwhile expense, we have just completed the installation of new professional Audio Visual equipment at the Cinema to improve your experience.

All the speakers have been changed, including amazing front dialogue speakers, and we can assure you that the sound quality from the new larger speakers and sub-woofer will blow your socks off!  The AV receiver, amplifiers and control panel have been changed and are bespoke programmed to our requirements to make your experience at the cinema flawless!

Over the last year we have had a number of problems and gremlins, including those affecting sound quality.  If you stopped attending because of the sound problems then PLEASE, come back.  If you are not delighted with the quality of the sound, we will refund you!

We are entirely volunteer run, with all profits going to improvements at the Village Hall and Village Hall Cinema.  Our first Village Hall was built as a memorial to those from the village who died in World War 1 and we are celebrating its centenary this year.  Our current Hall is also 25 years old this year.

The income the cinema produces has been necessary for upgrading essential equipment and installing new items such as the solar panels.  There is still much more to do.  At some point in the future we will need to change the 4.5 meter screen and HD digital projector, but the Village Hall budget does not extend to the additional £6,000+ that this would incur at the moment.  (Donations would be very gratefully accepted!)

So do remember that when you come to see a film, you are helping in the upkeep of a fabulous facility for the community for years to come.

Our next films are:

Friday 13th September @ 18.30 -        DumboA live-action, re-imagining of Disney's 1941 animated classic by Tim Burton starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Eva Green.

Friday 20th September  – Late Night:  A late-night talk show host's world is turned upside down when she hires her first and only female staff writer. Originally intended to smooth over diversity concerns, her decision brings about unexpectedly hilarious consequences as the two women are separated by both culture and generation.  Starring Emma Thompson, Mindy Kaling and John Lithgo.

Friday 4th OctoberRocketman:   Set to his most beloved songs, the epic musical story of Elton John, his breakthrough years in the 1970s and his fantastical transformation from shy piano prodigy to international superstar. Starring Taron Egerton, Richard Madden & Jamie Bell.

Breaking News - Rocketman!

After many many requests we are pleased to advise that we finally have the date for the DVD release and will be screening Rocketman on 4th October.

If it is anything like when we screened Bohemian Rhapsody we would recommend booking in advance as we do not like having to turn people away on the door.  Online booking will be available soon.
